Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Budowlanych
Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Budowlanych Sp. z o.o. developed from Centralne Biuro Konstrukcyjne Urządzeń Budowlanych (CBKUB), established with the Order of the Minister of Heavy Industry of 15 December 1951, the entity that initiated pioneer operations in the scope of designing and implementing in the industry machinery and equipment necessary to restore the country after war devastation. Over the years of its functioning, CBKUB greatly contributed to the development of the construction equipment industry, expanding and modernising the design, test and production facilities.
In 1972, due to the changes in the construction equipment industry, CBKUB was transformed into Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Maszyn Budowlanych along with Zakłady Doświadczalne in Kobyłka and in Bielsko-Biała. Due to the necessity of conducting increasingly complex development and implementation work in the field of self-propelled cranes based on the current personnel and stock resources, with the Order no 8/77 of Zjednoczenie Przemysłu Maszyn Budowlanych of 20.07.1977, issued based on the Order no 27 of the President of the Council of Ministers of 5 April 1977 as regards establishment of PIMB, Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Budowlanych (PIMB) was established, taking over the entirety of potential and achievements of Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy, which significantly improved its position in the industry and among research and development entities in the country. For many years, the Institute was the research and development base for the former Zjednoczenie Przemysłu Maszyn Budowlanych “Bumar”.
As of 1.01.2004, Zakład Doświadczalny in Biskupiec was separated from the organisational structure of the Institute in order to establish on its basis a commercial law company operating under the firm Zakład Doświadczalny PIMB Sp. z o.o. (as of 10.06.2013 – Zakład Doświadczalny Biskupiec Sp. z o.o.), in which PIMB Sp. z o.o. has 100% shareholding.
Since 1.05.2008, Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Budowlanych, pursuant to the Act on Commercialisation of the research and development entity, with the name Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Budowlanych, has been functioning as a capital company with the firm Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Budowlanych spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością. The State Treasury is the single shareholder of the Company.
